We call them Watchful Wonders from the time we get them at six weeks until they begin to crawl.
Your baby is listening and watching the world in wonder, soaking in new
experiences like a sponge. This is the time in your baby's life
when what are important are closeness and affection, talking and eye
contact. Your baby is learning voices and familiar sounds from
his/her environment. Your infant is continuing the learning he
/she began even before birth.
To
foster all of this we plan activities for each individual infant.
The activities are from a published curriculum and our intention is to
provide a variety of experiences that encompass physical, auditory and
visual stimulation on a daily basis in addition to meeting your
infant's basic needs. There is a file for each child and the
teachers record the activities the child has experienced to ensure the
variety and/or mastery of the activity. It is never a dull moment
in the Watchful Wonders' room and they are truly a happy bunch.
