We call them Bright Beginners from the time they begin to crawl until they are walking.
When your baby begins crawling around, their world changes.
Watching is no longer enough to satisfy their curiosity of what they
see. Your baby uses hands as well as eyes to explore their world
and you must always be one step ahead, always watching for danger as
well as chances to share. You will notice that everything is in
the mouth during this time period.
Your
baby loves repetition and it is reassuring in a strange world. We
capitalize on this by planning individualized activities that are
carried out as close to a daily schedule as possible. We begin
playing games like Hide and Seek and Patty Cake. We read to the
babies and give them books of which they can learn to turn the
pages. As with the Watchful Wonders we also utilize
activities from a published curriculum and our intention is to provide
a variety of experiences that encompass physical, auditory and visual
stimulation on a daily basis in addition to meeting your child?s basic
needs. The Bright Beginners benefit tremendously from the
activities they encounter in this room and this makes the transition to
Energetic Explorers seamless.
